Restoration of the Gallery of Mirrors, the Hall of Diana and the Secret Staircase

The Mirror Gallery owes its extraordinary iconographic design to Domenico Parodi, who was inspired by the 17th-century Roman gallery model and, of course, the Galerie des Glaces in Versailles (1679-1686). Parodi offers an interpretation with refined decorative solutions, turning the pictorial language into a vehicle for a didactic-moralising and self-celebratory message of the Durazzo family, former owners of the Genoese mansion and patrons of the Gallery. In addition to the Gallery, the work involved the restoration of two other rooms, the Hall of Diana and the Secret Room.
