Statue of St. Rocco – Norcia

Conservative and aesthetic restoration of polychrome and gilded wooden sculpture

Restoration involved the polychrome and gilded wooden sculpture depicting St. Rocco, patron saint of Frascaro di Norcia, made by an unknown author around the 17th century. Originally placed in the second altar on the left of the Church of Sant’Antonio Abate, it was transferred in 2017 to the storage facility set up by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities in Santo Chiodo di Spoleto (PG) in the safeguard operations put in place for movable property following the seismic events in 2016 and 2017 in the Region of Umbria. The sculpture made of polychrome and gilded wood has the following dimensions: height 175 cm, width 95 cm, and depth 43 cm.
